A real success for this original and friendly ski touring competition that began in 2010 under the 'Courchevel Sports Mountaineering' club leadership '. Everyone can participate no matter your level, novices can discover a new activity, amateurs are trying to improve their time and compare to others or go on a new challenge and specialists are fighting for the record. A competition adapted for anyone. You can register even several minute before the kick off!
Last year 13 races happened on the official course.
With 2030 departures given and 940 different competitors classified last year, the CSTM has become the ski touring race that brings together the most participants in France and attracts more and more foreign athletes. Kilian Jornet and Laetitia Roux had won the record for the 2014/2015 season and 22min01s 26min04s.
First reference time this season for Swann Juillaguet and Corinne Favre.
Wednesday, January 6th, a record race was officially launched with over 100 participants at the start. This season, records will be very well endowed with € 8,000 in prize money offered by the partner Millet and € 4,800 vouchers to use at the partner shop "The Base Camp"! The best times will be rewarded with the "René and Raymond Millet " Trophy .
Hopefully 12 rounds will be competed every Wednesday until the end of Wednesday, March 23 where more than 1200 people are expected to celebrate the 100th race with the traditional disguised run and the concert of the famous group : La Compagnie Créole for a festive evening !
For this first official round under the snowflakes, Swann Juillaguet established the first reference time in 25min23s.His brother Will ,who was celebrating its twentieth anniversary this January 6, came second in 26min08 followed by Jean-Christophe Bette from the Val d'Arve Ski Alp Club in 26min35s.
Corinne Favre, from the Arêches Beaufort Multisports Club sets a high level for the girls with a good time in 29min26s. Catherine Juillaguet from Courchevel Sports Mountaineering club took the second place in 30min44s followed by Géraldine Bau from Méribel in 33min03s.
On the side of the ESF Challenge , Florimond Gachet from Arêches ESF which finished at the first place in 28min09s and Pascale Gachet Mauroz from Courchevel ESF 1550 who headed the women's rankings in 40min54s.
Until next Wednesday, it is possible to train on this groomed and secured route every day during the season.
