"El Cap à bout de bras": V.François on the top!
They have done it! They went up to the end of the dream! The dream of Vanessa, to climb at arm's length the 600 meters of the Zodiac, the mythical granitic climbing route of El Capitan in Yosemite.
Vanessa François, paraplegic climber further to an accident, accompanied with Liv Sansoz, Marion Poitevin and Fabien Dugit, arrived at the summit last Saturday, after 4 days of effort and 3 nights on the wall.
During a previous news, we had informed you about the American shutdown which blocked the access to the park of Yosemite and then forbade them to climb. But Vanessa and her team needs more in order to be stop!
So, after 18 months of preparation and training, the prize-winner expedition of the Millet Expedition Project 2012 was able to start.
Having made several porterages of equipment, they went up on the climbing route. Four days of climbing and three nights of bivouacs on the wall later, they arrived at the summit, happy to have gone at the end of the dream, filled with emotion and tired!
From the next day, they began the long and difficult descent to join the base camp and conclude this technical project and this beautiful human adventure.
