Freeride Skiing

R. Kaleta: « this is the trip of my life ! »

Robin Kaleta, Millet technical advisor, is living his dream in Alaska. From there he tell us a bit more about its amazing trip in the white country. Interview.

Why did you choose to go to Alaska?

There is no question about it. Alaska is the ultimate chalenge for every freerider, no doubt about it. Tordrillo mountain lodge that we choose offers a great combination of best alaskan riding with accomodation in a remote lodge.

How is it? Tell us a bit

So far we had two down days and when we finally got out, there was like 50 cm of fresh pow. Lots of sluff and a few slabs, but after 3 visits of alaska  i finally got to ride some nice spine lines.

What it is so special?

Main diffrence is the amount of snow and its stability. that enables you to ski steeper stuff in pow and spines.

The good thing?

Snow of course, but also great guides who allow fair amount of independence.

The bad thing?

Can’t imagine anything

You said “this is the trip of my life”, why?

Well we have a helicopter with a great pilot who can land anywhere. a plane to get us closer to the mountains, great guide and super friendly staff around lodge….
