The Pierra Ment 20 receives the Golden ISPO Award 2017

Every year, the unmissable trade show scans the market novelties and awards the noteworthy innovations. This year, the Pierra Ment 20, newborn from our ski-touring backpack range, makes us proud receiving the best ski product award.

The development around our ski products hinges on three core design principles: performance features, ergonomic comfort, and onboard safety, to satisfy all performance-seeking athletes. In this perspective, our designer team developed the skimo range, as an extension of the Touring range available this winter.

The work made on this backpack in terms of lightness and function has paid and allowed us to receive the gold ISPO award in the ski backpack category! This great reward is a guarantee of innovation, that truly answers to ski-mountaineers needs. It will be available in shop from  winter 2017/2018.

In races, every second gained during manipulations brings you nearer the podium. With this target in mind, each feature is engineered in depth to generate the lightest, most ergonomic solution.
Whether for crampon-compartment access, ski fastening on pack, or carrying-harness adjustment, the R&D objective was clear: trim weight while combining reliability and robustness.

A word from the designers:
"From the outset, we had a very clear objective: develop a best-in-class product in terms of its functionality, with minimal weight and maximum durability. We therefore fully focused the design process on these criteria. And the result features many innovations: laser-cut fabric panels, some welded seams, Dyneema-reinforced fabric, steel cable ski holder…
To hit our 250gram target, we even replaced the straps with a 2mm cord! Development began in November 2015, as we wanted to use the winter to test our prototype as early as possible.
To save time, we prototyped ourselves our ideas with the workroom machines, for example, to validate the geometry of the ski-holder hook and the shape of the shoulder straps. "
