First name: Philipp
DATE OF BIRTH: 06/08/1991
Nationality / Country of origin: Austria
I like to go as far and as fast as possible on technical mountains, in an easy way!
Few words that define you as a person :
Maybe it`s better to ask my friends therefor.
What are your passions besides skiing / climbing / mountaineering / trail running ?
Not an easy question, because my brain is just about mountains. But something nobody will think of it; I'm fascinated by tarantulas, scorpions and snakes and I keep some of them at home in terrariums, no joke! And of course, I like to spend time with my girlfriend and friends!
Your best and worst memory in the mountains :
It's not easy to choose the "best" or "worst" moment in the mountains. Usually I feel satisfied and happy after a big and hard activity in the mountains, when I get back to the car and put off my boots. I don't remember so many bad moments, as I never had an accident. But I often feel not so happy when it's hard climbing, I'm belaying my partner, and I know we will be dead if he takes a fall because there are just bad protections possible.
Why do you feel part of the Millet family ?
I have been part of the Millet team for three years now. Everyone knows each other and the atmosphere is nice. The team working in the offices is top.
What does that mean about you, Rise Up ?
I started climbing really late, I was just competing in skimo and running races. Now I'm developing myself as a mountaineer, it's changing, it's learning, it's rising up.
Why do you suggest people to go for outdoor and mountain activities ?
To know their limits and to see the beauty of the wilderness.
Speedrecord of Großglockner, Piz Bernina, Hochferner NF, Zwölferkogel NF.
2nd winter ascent of the Eiger North Pillar, Messner Route in 10h.
First ascents of Lüsener Fernerkogel NF, Brunnenkogel NF, Wechnerwand NF,
Lüsener FernerkogelEast Face Couloir (Solo).
Victories and course records on several verticals and trail running competitions.
Several victories in Ski Mountaineering.
For 2019 I’ve planned trail running races (1 Vertical, 2 Ultras) and in July I’ll go to Karakoram trying to climb a new route on a beautiful 7.000 meters.
