Sébastien RATEL

Name : RATEL

First name : Sébastien

Age : 32 years

Nationality / Country of origin : France

"Start like a bullet, cause you know the end will be anyway tough."
Originally coming from Maurienne, Chamonix has been my adoptive city for eleven years when I was a mountaineer at the Military High Mountain Group. At this time, I spent my entire time in the mountains in the four corners of the world. I’m now living in Royans (the country of ravioles), a small paradise for climbing and other vertical pleasures.
Few words that define you as an athlete:
Always very motivated to enjoy good conditions.

Few words that define you as a person :
Always in optimization, so a little tiring.

What are your passions besides skiing / climbing / mountaineering / trail running ?
All that I can climb.

Your best and worst memory in the mountains :
My best: My first time on the Mont Blanc at midnight, under a starry sky after a storm.
My worst: The exhausted descent of Kamet, at the limit of my reserves.

Why do you feel part of the Millet family ?
Millet has always been the partner of great adventures. Since Annapurna in 1950 until today, thanks to the work of engineers, designer, technical advisers, the brand remains one of the best.

What does that mean about you, Rise Up ?
Dare, dream and then try.

Why do you advise people to go out in the mountains to do outdoor activities ?
Immerse yourself in the natural elements, to get to know you better.
